People who are chasing excellence have routines each morning to start their day off right. Your mornings are so critical to having a great day, to seizing the day, it’s imperative you get off to a great start.
A routine every morning to start the day will get your body ready, if you move more than you sit. It will get your mind ready, if you fill your head with information and not the morning news. It will get your spirit ready, try some meditation.
Everyone’s morning ritual can be different, you need to find what works for you. Here is my routine every morning.
Podcast; About 15 – 20 minutes every morning. What’s great about podcasts is you don’t have to say no to anything else, listen while getting ready.
Meditation; 10 minutes every morning, I use the app Headspace.
Deep Breathing; In with the new, out with the old. I use the ratio of breathe in for a 5 count, hold for 15 and exhale for 10. Find whatever is comfortable for you.
Body-resistant exercise; While my coffee brews I do 10-15 squats, get the blood flowing.
Review your goals; Whether you journal or just read your goals you have to take a few minutes to focus on what’s important, what you are aiming for.
Find your routine. I know it will benefit you while you chase excellence.
